In the event, a handful of designers showcased an outfit that they had recently put together. Each designer discussed what motivated them to create their outfit as well as some of the various materials they used to do so. Among the designers was Hailun Zhou from Qing Dao, China. Hailun created her outfit using vinyl, PVC, and other materials that she made. She was inspired to do so by photographs that she had captured for a project in one of her classes. The next designer was Eden Slezin. Eden grew up in San Francisco and was inspired by the life and love he viewed in the city. With that in mind, he created an outfit using various materials ranging from organic denim to recycled bike tubes. Dina Marie Lam was another fashion designer in the event. She used the inspiration of her emotions which she derived from the passing of her aunt. Her emotions caused her to create an outfit that signified transition. Through that, she created an outfit using soft, warm materials. The next designer in the runway was Jelly Shan out of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. She was inspired by her experience on a recent trip to her home country of China. She felt peace and joy during her trip. She created a colorful, girly outfit using various materials like flags and clothing. The final designer we will discuss was Saya Shen form Beijing, China. She was inspired by photographs she had caputred of ocean waves and trees in San Francisco. In restult, she created a wavy outfit using baggy, oversized silhouette materials.
